Vivo Energy, in partnership with Blue Cube, launched the ‘Simbula ELF’ campaign in November 2024. Vivo Energy is the leading distributor and marketer of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants in Uganda.

The heavily attended launch event was held at Shell Bugoloobi. Rebecca Nassiwa, Lubricants Brand Manager at Vivo Energy Uganda, emphasized the campaign’s commitment to quality. 

The ‘Simbula ELF’ campaign currently running for three months (Nov, 2024 – Jan, 2025), aims to encourage trial of new SHELL Rimula R3X lubricant, while rewarding commercial drivers (heavy-duty diesel-powered engine vehicles, including taxis, lorries, trucks, and buses with older engines) who participate in it, with prizes of oil, fuel and cash worth over UGX 200M. Blue Cube was charged with developing and maintaining the IT systems for managing the campaign mechanics: entry, redemmption, draws and customer care/support. 

In addition to the weekly draws, fringe prizes in the form of airtime are available to customers throughout the week. It’s instant and winners can use it as they wish.

Blue Cube provided the Vivo Energy team with an analytical dashboard to monitor real time performance of the campaign and also provide support and maintenance of the system for a period of 3 months.

To participate in the campaign, drivers must buy a 5-litre pack of Shell Rimula R3X 20W-50, get a unique code under the seal cap, and send their site code, number plate, and unique code to 6688. As part of the promotion, participants stand a chance to win two brand-new canter trucks, along with a variety of prizes such as fuel, airtime, overalls t-shirts, caps, detergent, and more. 

Weekly draws  also offer full tanks of fuel as additional rewards.
